Deciding where to invest
Senior investment decisions have too often rested on fragmented spreadsheets, workshops and slide decks. The Strategic Choices Tool replaces that with a single, rigorous environment where decision-makers run “what if?” investment and disinvestment scenarios across an entire portfolio, and see clearly which options serve the organisation best.
Its latest generation, built for the Navy, goes further.
Using Bayesian causal modelling and genetic-algorithm optimisation, it can balance a force structure against several objectives at once — readiness, people, capability and infrastructure — and show why one balance of investment beats another. It moves strategic planning from correlation-based judgement to causation-driven insight, with every output auditable and defensible.
Programme Schedule Optimisation
Planning and de-risking procurement
For any major programme, Hawkrose’s application builds a complete Level-Zero plan automatically — Gantt chart, annual cost forecast, and risk and uncertainty sensitivities. It is reconfigurable to any complex procurement and produces exactly the analytically robust schedule that a £100m-plus investment demands under the HM Treasury Green Book. Weeks of manual effort become a fast, repeatable, evidence-based exercise.
Workforce Retention
Keeping the right people
Losing experienced people is one of the most expensive problems a large organisation faces, and the real reasons are rarely the obvious ones. Hawkrose’s workforce-retention application uses Bayesian causal modelling to reveal why particular groups actually leave — reward, work-life balance, location, career prospects and more — and lets decision-makers test the likely effect of a retention measure before spending on it.
Complement Optimisation
Getting the crew right
As navies explore leaner and increasingly autonomous vessels, “how many people, of which ranks and skills, do we actually need?” becomes a hard optimisation problem. Our Platform Complementing Tool, built for a blue-chip defence corporate, digitises the whole crewing process and — critically — computes the minimum complement needed to cover every role and evolution, within real constraints on rank, cost and ratio. It turns a manual, judgement-heavy task into a fast, defensible, optimised answer.

Modern software in accredited environments
Not every problem is a decision model; some are about running an operation well. Hawkrose builds configurable case-management and workflow platforms— with SLA reporting, role-based access, and, where wanted, on-premises AI agents that classify, summarise and draft without a single byte of data leaving the secure environment. Our work on a blue-chip corporate’s ship-support operation is one example of AI-augmented software built to defence-grade security from the ground up.
